THE NEBRASKA LAWYERS FOUNDATION
The Nebraska Lawyers Foundation is
a non-profit corporation who’s focus is to obtain grants,
gifts and contributions to fund the work of the Minority and Justice
Implementation Fund, the Nebraska Lawyers Assistance Fund, the One
Hour of Sharing campaign, the Volunteer Lawyers Fund, the Nebraska
Continuing Legal Education Fund and the New Initiatives Fund.
Barrister's
Ball
On April 5, 2008, The Nebraska Lawyers Foundation hosted the Fourth Annual Barristers’ Ball
at the Omaha Hilton Hotel. The gala is a festive black-tie
(optional)
event featuring dining, dancing, and live and silent auctions.
Golf
Tournaments
Proceeds from both golf tournaments are designated for the Volunteer
Lawyers Project, which is NSBA's statewide pro bono legal assistance
program helping low income Nebraskans with civil legal problems.
The program relies on the volunteer assistance of attorneys from
all across Nebraska. Each year volunteers donate thousands of hours
of free and reduced-fee legal services to low-income people with
problems including divorce and custody matters, simple wills, and
housing problems.
