For the Public:  Volunteer Lawyers Project Client Application

The Volunteer Lawyers Project is a project of last resort.  If you have not contacted Nebraska Legal Aid, you need to contact them BEFORE you apply for our services.  You can contact Legal Aid at or 1-877-250-2016.

If Legal Aid cannot assist you, and you would like to apply with VLP, please be advised we are a volunteer program.  Once the application process is complete we will attempt to place your case for eight weeks.  We CANNOT guarantee we will place your case.

To be eligile for pro bono services, your household must be at or below 125% of the federal poperty guidelines.  You will need to provide us your total household income from all adult household members.  We offer reduced fee services for those whose income is between 126% and 145% of federal proverty guidelines.

To make an application, we will need some initial information from you. Once we have this information, we will confirm that you qualify financially and that our office does not have a conflict of interest.  We will then mail you a questionnairre to complete and return to our office.  Once the queistionnairre is returned, the application process is complete and we will start looking for an attorney.  If we have any questions we will contact you, so please make sure the telephone number that you list on your application is current so that we can contact you if necessary.

Thank you and we hope that you are successful in obtaining a lawyer through our program.    Información en español.
